Srisailam temple close to Ahobilam found in Karnool district of AndhraPradesh along the Neelamalai hills and close to the thick reserve forests of Eastern ghats, adjacent to Krishna river is a very picturesque and unique place where Lord  Shiva in name of Mallikaarjuna is seated along with His escort Bhramaramba
The Shiva temple here is very ancient and here Shiva is syambhu in form of Linga and it is one of the Twleve Jyotir Lingas in India.
The Devi Brahmaramaba is also considered as one of the eighteen Shakthi peedam in India

Day - 2 We reached Srisailam the second day after having darshan of Pavana Narashimha and Bharhgava  Narashimha by jeep. Leaving Ahobilam after simple but pure satvic food served in the Ahobilam mutt as prasad left to Srisailam and covered the 170kms through Dhornala and thick forests of Nallamalai hills and reached the beautiful well kept temple of Srisailam in the evening hrs. We checked in the Kanchepuram mutt prmises situated with in the temple `praharam itself and thus could reach the temple with in a short time.

After resting at night we got tickets for `abhishekam of lord Shiva and Kukuma archana for devi and in the early hrs after bath joined the devotee que. Being the auspicious `Karthika masam the devotees were in good number. Joining the Abhisheka que we could reach the sanctum in an hour and half and we could do the abhishekam ourselves to Lord Mallikaarjuna swamy . Next we moved to the Devi shrine where we could do the kukuma archana after an hrs wait.
The temple is very well kept and maintained. In the sylvian setting of the Neelamalai hills the atmosphere was one of devotion.

SRISAILAM DAM , PATHAL KRISHNA, ROPEWAY, BOATING

As Srisailam is close vicinity of river Krishna there are two important dams close by, the Srisailam dam and Nagarjuna dam. It is easy to access Srisailam dam which is just across the temple. Their reaching river Krishna which is running at a low level from the gorge above is a journey by itself. Reaching the and touching the waters of Pathala Krishna is supposed to get blessing of ancestors, where we can remember them with rituals and prayers.

Crossing the gorge can be done by cable cars which shows us the entire hill view with the river meandering in the middle.
On reaching the other bank one can go along the boat and take a close look of the Srisailam dam. Altogether it is a great opportunity for sightseeing packing in the cable car ride and boat ride along with the temple visit.
